Antioxidant rich foods are important for cognitive functions and blueberries are at the top of the list. If clear thinking and memory are a concern then look at brain foods such as this one.

This humble berry is believed to contain unknown chemicals that fight memory decline and improve brain functions.

Another benefit is that blueberries can reduce belly fat and help prevent diabetes. That’s important these days.

In studies, rats that were fed blueberry compounds, grew new neurons and improved their memories.

These super berries are known to fight the effects of aging, such as wrinkles and mental decline. Their anti-inflammatory properties may relieve arthritis symptoms and strengthen blood vessels.

Blueberries fight free radicals that cause cancer and age-related diseases. Their cholesterol lowering ability can help with artery and heart health.

Like cranberries, blueberries can prevent urinary tract infections.

This modest berry is one of the super foods that nature has provided for us. They taste great and it may be hard to believe that they can also be so good for us.

Wild blueberries are naturally organic and free of pesticides and man-made fertilizers. This gives them an advantage over commercial ones. They have all the benefits without the toxins.

If you want a rich source of antioxidants that prevent cell damage and fight diseases than be sure to include wild blueberries in your diet.

If you combine a healthy diet that includes antioxidant rich foods such as blueberries with exercise then you are well on your way to a healthier lifestyle. Now if you cut back on sugar and grains you can see spectacular improvements.

Adding good fats such as krill oil with omega-3 can add to the mental improvement that berries supply. Remove junk food from your diet and eat more natural and wholesome foods that actually taste better and are healthier for you.

Forget about all the processed and junk food and grab a handful of wholesome goodness instead. You cannot go wrong with organic or wild blueberries.

LynnBefore you consider taking fish oil you have to understand omega-3 and it’s role in your health.

Omega-3 fatty acids are the beneficial fatty acids. They are essential to your health but your body doesn’t produce them. So you have to help supply your body with these good fatty acids.

The way to obtain these acids is through eating fish, such as halibut, tuna, herring, sardines, and salmon, krill which is an organic product, nut oils, and certain plants. You can also get omega-3 fatty acids in quality dietary supplements.

Fish oil is taken from the tissues of fish. It contains certain omega-3 fatty acids, EPA, which is Eicosapentaenoic acid and DHA, which is Docosahexaenoic acid. The fish get these acids from what they eat like micro algae.

Krill oil is oil that is taken from krill which is a shrimp like invertebrate animal. They are found in the Antarctic waters and the Pacific Ocean along the coast of Japan and Canada. Krill oil contains more antioxidants than fish oil plus it has a longer shelf life.

FishClinical studies of fish oil have shown that it can help high cholesterol, high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, weight loss, arthritis, and osteoporosis. Depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder, eating disorders have been shown to improve by taking fish oil.

Let me tell you my experiences with krill oil and why I can’t live without it.

I have a mild case of cerebral palsy, which means I have a slight case of brain damage. In the last several years I’ve had eight petit mal seizures that have resulted in me going to the hospital to recover.

I had trouble concentrating all my life. To write anything like this would take a lot of effort.

I am in my late 50’s and my mind isn’t what it used to be, as good as it was. I thought I was going through early onset Alzheimer’s because I was having a real hard time thinking, even my talking was slow and I had to think longer of what I wanted to say.

My husband was taking fish oil so I thought I’d take that. It left me with a strong aftertaste. So I couldn’t take that. Then my husband started taking krill oil and he said I should take those. At first I was reluctant but then I thought I’d better try it because my condition was getting worse. Very soon after taking them I noticed my mind was loosening up. Words and thoughts are coming to me easier and freer.

I’ve had depression all my life and now I’m seeing a brightness to my life that I’ve never seen before. I love it! I’m even making jokes more, I talk more and am really starting to see a change in my personality. I can’t believe it! I know it’s the krill oil because I’ve changed nothing else in my life.

I would have had the hardest time writing this article in the past but now the words are flowing out of me. I feel great and am so glad and relieved to know I am not losing my mind. Thank you krill oil!

So if you’re having trouble concentrating I’d try some fish oil. I can’t say it will work wonders for you, like it did for me, but it’s well worth a try.

Here is a fine example of how powerful fish oil can be. Discover more about brain boosting nutrients and tips.
